What Drives You?

Thursday, May 29, 2008

One definition of career is "a life-work chosen by a person to use personal talent, provide some service or goods, earn money, and contribute to society." Whether you're a hobbyist or working or full-time musician, most of us fit that description. Using personal talent and contributing to society are just as motivating as making money doing what you love. Not all of us are in it for the money, but some of are...which is not a bad thing. What is it that drives you? Is it the thrill of performing live for others? Is it making money doing what you do best? Whatever it may be, we're curious about what drives you to succeed in the music business? Post your comments here.

The members of Abraxas like the money (of course) but the real thrill is pleasing the crowd. We've played for crowds of 100 to over 10,000 and it's always a thrill for us. We practice every week because we actually enjoy playing Santana's music.

What drives Abraxas is to play the best that we can trying to emulate the Santana sound.
